Favorite Animal of the Day: Grant’s Golden Mole (Eremitalpa granti)
Just…just look at him. He’s friggin’ adorable.
A small species of golden mole, known for its fossorial lifestyle in the Namib desert, as well as its ability to “swim” through sand to hunt. Not a true mole (which belong to the family Talpidae in the order Soricomorpha), but living a very similar lifestyle, and thus having many similarities to true moles and marsupial moles of Australia, (due to convergent evolution) including blindness and large forelimbs.
So friggin’ adorable.
